National Geographic 'Diggers' TV Show Returns

After a brief hiatus the team of Tim Saylor and George Wyant are back on the National Geographic Channel with new episodes of their 'Diggers' show. When the show first premiered the duo had been criticized by Archaeologists and organizations around the country who said that they encouraged and glamorized looting of American archaeological sites.

The show was apparently a hit in the ratings, however National Geo obviously stepped back and did some soul searching and it is a good bet that they did some retooling to calm these boys down, and put them on the right path to satisfy the archaeological community as well as other groups.

Check out the upcoming shows.

Pinpointers

One tool that you should never be without when you are out detecting is a pinpointer.
Many times it is hard to find a small metal object in the ground, but a pinpointer just makes the job a whole lot easier. Don't go by price alone, you want one that is reliable and well made.

Most pinpointers come with a holster to attach to your belt.

There are a number of good pin pointers on the market. My personal favorite is the Garrett Pro which sells for about $130.

Minelab has a new pinpointer - PRO-FIND 25 It sells for about  $169. http://www.minelab.com/usa/products/consumer/accessories/pinpointer/pro-find-25
Fisher has the F-Point  which sells for about $60.

Nokta has the RS which sells for about $140

White's has the Bulls Eye II which sells for about $120
Detector Pro Pistol Probe sells for about $170
