TheEast Brunswick Library made an error and they will be closed due to the PresidentsDay Holiday, Monday, February 20th. The 3rd Monday of February is our usualDSMDC meeting date. There were no other meeting rooms available in February to reschedule.Therefore, we are cancelling our February meeting. Our next meeting will beon March 19th (3rd Monday in March).

Rare 'Double Eagle' 1933 coin worth $7.6 MILLION goes on display in the UK

Only 13 of the $20 gold coins are known to exist today and U.S. Secret Serviceagents have pursued the coins for over 60 years to take them out of circulation

The rare 1933 $20 DoubleEagle is the most expensive gold coin ever to be sold at auction which sold for $7.6million at Sotheby's in 2002 - will beexhibited in the UK.

Nearly half a million ofthe gold coins were minted in the U.S. in 1933 in the midst of the GreatDepression but only 13 are known to exist today.

The rest of the coins,featuring an eagle on one side and Liberty on the other, were melted downbefore they ever left the United States Mint.

Only one coin is legallyin private hands, with all other 1933 Double Eagles remaining as property ofthe U.S. government.
